Karla Kiper, B.A., M.A., M.B.A., is a nationally-recognized Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) and Director for Technology Integration for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools. Karla is a former district-level technology facilitator and has many years of experience as a classroom teacher. She is a Certified Google for Education Trainer and Certified G-Suite Administrator, a Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer, an Adobe Educator Trainer, and a Flipped Learning Global Initiative Certified Trainer. Her focus areas include EBR’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative and development of online professional development. Her specialties include: digital literacy, eLearning, mobile app development, technology grant writing, strategic technology planning, and flipped and blended learning implementation. Karla is currently an ISTE Professional Learning Network (PLN) Leader, an ISTE Community Champion, and a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at Southeastern Louisiana University researching blended and personalized learning. A recent joint research project presentation concerning the impact of technology professional learning communities (PLCs) has been accepted by the Mid-South Educational Research Association (MSERA) 47th Annual Conference. Karla’s work has been recently featured in the Summer 2018 edition of EdTech Focus on K-12 Magazine and as a speaker at the Fall 2018 RTM CIO Congress.
