Karla Kiper, B.A., M.A., M.B.A., is a nationally Certified Educational Technology Leader (CETL) and Director of Technology Integration for East Baton Rouge Parish Schools. Karla is a former district-level technology facilitator and has many years of experience as a classroom teacher. Her focus areas include EBR’s 1:1 Chromebook initiative and online professional development. Her specialties include: digital literacy, eLearning design and development, mobile app development, technology grant writing, strategic technology planning, and flipped and blended learning implementation. Karla currently serves as an ISTE Professional Learning Network (PLN) Leader for the Mobile Learning Network and the Learning Spaces Network, an ISTE Community Champion, and a doctoral student in Educational Leadership at Southeastern Louisiana University researching blended and personalized learning. A recent joint research project presentation concerning the impact of technology professional learning communities (PLCs) was accepted by the Mid-South Educational Research Association (MSERA) 47th Annual Conference. Karla’s work has been recently featured in the Summer 2018 edition of EdTech Focus on K-12 Magazine and as a speaker at the Fall 2018 RTM CIO Congress.
